Hikaru was very annoyed. It was another day in Konoha, and he had been given a mission. It was a stupid one, a humiliating one, but he had to pay the bills somehow.
Hikaru walked the streets of Konoha with a fluffy, Giant, brown teddy bear in his arms. The bear was almost as large as he was. His orders had been to deliver it to some random house, and make sure it didn't touch the ground.
I really want to know who paid for this mission. Hikaru grumbled. Lady Tsunade must be laughing so hard. Darn hokage, giving an Elite Genin like me such a dumb mission.
Hikaru finally reached the house. "Whew, what a house" Hikaru whistled. He went to the doors, and knocked. No answer. He knocked again. No answer. He knocked rapidly. No answer.
Hikaru looked around. Behind him, on the street, people were looking and pointing at him and the teddy bear on the house's porch. Some of the Genin he knew were chuckling.
"Shut the hell up!" Hikaru yelled. they continued to laugh. Hikaru turned to face the door again. "GRRR!!!" Hikaru pounded madly on the door.
"DAMMIT!!!" Hikaru kicked the door down.

Tzu watched in awe as the door he approached suddenly collapsed right before him. The obstacle now sat flat on the ground, relieved of the hinges it once commanded. The dark eyes of the jounin looked from the collapsed door to the silhouette in the doorway. Apparently it was some...kind...of... bear? As Tzu eye's tried to focus on the light, he could only make out the outline of the object the boy carried.
The ninja took two steps forward, checking to see if a closer look could give him a better picture. All at once, the hands that held the bear began to take shape. After the hands came the arms formed, then the shoulders... Eventually, an entire boy could be seen at the end of four steps. Upon seeing the figure, the experienced ninja realized his order came in.
"Ah, so you are the one tasked with bringing me my supplies," Tzu said with a smile on his face. The lightning-nin almost guessed at the confusion that would ensue once the boy realized the man came from a different village.
"You see, I'm here on a diplomatic venture of sorts. That bear in your hands actually holds value," the ninja adept at lightning hoped this simple explanation would solve any current confusion and lead to the safe and secure transfer of supplies.
"Now, would you had me that bear?" Tzu commented in a cool and reassuring tone.

Hikaru didn't wait for the man to explain himself. When he saw the lightning headband, he yelled. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?!?!"
Hikaru ran forward, flailing his arms. "Help, intruder, lightning ninja in the village!" (as we can see, Hikaru is sadly misinformed.)
"ARGH! I can't use any of my Jutsu, I'm too shocked. WHAT THE HELL ARE ANBU BLACK OPS DOING, LETTING A-" He ran into a pillar and collapsed. He got back up, and stood.
"Wait, diplomatic mission? Haha, I thought I was transporting a useless bear." Hikaru scratched the back of his head, and smiled. "Well, why didn't you say so before I ran into this wall thing here?"
He hefted the bear, and dropped it in front of Tzu. "Anything else sir?"

The man chuckled as the young Genin overreacted to seeing a ninja from a different village inside Konoha. Tzu admittedly had a few quarrels with the jounin of Konoha, for various reasons, but the man held a place in his heart for rising Genin. The stronger they became, the more rivals he would have to test his might against in the future.
"Seeing as you had no idea what the contents of the bear are, I'll show you a thing or two. Seemingly harmless items contain more use than some might think," Tzu said while reaching for the furry animal.
The ninjas hands carefully felt around for the tail of the bear. Once located, the lightning-nin removed the small fur fluff to reveal a piece of paper with a locking mechanism on it. Tzu reached out his left hand, touching the locking mechanism, while with the other hand he raised two fingers to his lips.
With the words "release" uttering out of his lips, the bear began to transform. The bear then unzipped from its head down to its toes, revealing a zipper, which previously concealed itself. The performance of the bear unzipping revealed a small box on the inside.
Tzu hand opened the next box, revealing an assortment of ninja supplies. Various kunai, explosive notes and smoke bombs occupied the container, but the man concentrated his efforts on two small metal disks, no larger than the palm of his hand.
"I've been tracking down these type of chakra conductors for a while, but only blacksmiths from the land of fire possess the intricacy needed to forge these. This is actually the very reason for my trip to Konoha," the lightning-nin said, as he took his hands off the contents of the rest of the box.
"I thank you for delivering this to me, only the land of fire gave me a few extra. Would you like to learn a new jutsu using these disks?" Tzu said in an excited tone.
The ninja's motive for teaching this young ninja came from purely selfish means. Making the rising fire ninja stronger would yield a more interesting chuunin exam as well as more worthy opponents in the future. Tzu longed for battle a little too much, but the last few months lacked very much action.

Hikaru was really sad, and REALLY REALLY depressed. How could he not have found the Bear's hidden compartments? His frown turned upside down when he heard about learning a disk jutsu.
Hikaru grinned, and clenched his fists. "Oh, hell yeah, who wouldn't want to learn a new Jutsu?!?!" Hikaru leaped around, as if he hadn't run smack bang into a pillar. "TEACH ME OLD GUY! TEACH ME THAT JUTSU!!!'
Hikaru was excited for the Chunin exams. Ninja from all over the world would come, and he would beat them all. No way he would lose. He was confident in himself. He would work hard, and break all the rules, and pass.
Then Hikaru stood and thought for a moment (rare for him) "Wait... you're a lightning ninja, why would you teach me jutsu that'd help me eliminate Lightning Genin from the Chunin exams? You are here for that reason, right?"

"Hahaha," Tzu could not help himself from laughing out loud at the remark of the genin. Konoha seemed always to produce the most naive ninja. "I'd merely teach you a jutsu to enable you to survive the chuunin exams. At the rate you're going, if a pillar were to magically appear in the chuunin exams you would just run into it, knocking yourself out."
The lightning ninja removed his gloves, and then took the disks. With a surge of chakra, the disks brightened up, sending stray lightning energy out of them. After the initial burst of chakra from the man's hands, the erratic lightning chakra dulled down to a small glow.
"Perhaps a demonstration of the capabilities of these will sink its fangs into your imagination," Tzu exclaimed while preparing his chakra.
With two swift moves, the ninja attached the disks to the bottom of his shoe. Tzu then stomped both of his feat, leaving the disks on the ground underneath his feet. Once he completed this action, his hands made a few seals while his mouth called out, "lightning step."
In a flash, the lightning ninja ran out the door. The ninja slowed the speed of his movement so the genin could see his body physically run out the door, but under normal conditions the user would seemingly disappear, leaving a chakra trail in his wake. The two disks remained on the ground, pulsing violently with lightning sparking out of them.
From a distance a little outside the door, a voice echoed, "Thunderstep!" Once more, the man reappeared right on top of the disks, without being visibly seen. "How was that?" Tzu muttered.

I'm so going to beat up every lightning Genin in the exams I can now. Hikaru thought rebelliously.
Then Tzu showed him the jutsu.
Hikaru simply frowned, and narrowed his eyes, totally unimpressed. "Okay, you can run like a track star? Who cares? I thought you were going to actually teach me something I'm going to need!"" Hikaru turned away, upset.
Hikaru sighed. "Jeez, I thought you were actually going to teach me a useful jutsu." I get it, you can annoy the living day lights out of people with you speed. So what?"
Hikaru smiled.
"That Jounin Neji could beat you up any day. Hahaha, I'd like to see you run like that with all 64 of your tenkestu pressed. Only one person has done that so far, and that was Uzumaki Naruto, that slacker. The Hyuugas rock!"
Hikaru only said this because he wished he could have a Byakugan. He wanted to see past girls clothing trees to spot the enemy.

"I'm sure there are some leaf ninja that could beat me up," Tzu commented, without knowledge of who this "Neji" was. Apparently a hyuuga, but not a famous enough one to reach his ears.
Tzu saw the genin use the "my daddy could beat up your daddy argument," without any regard to his own strength. Even though this might have had validity, the man dismissed it out of his mind.
The lightning ninja sighed, seeing the immaturity of the boy; however, something just caught his eye. In the midst of the defiance the older ninja saw confidence and village pride in the younger ninja, an attitude which reflects the capacity to move forward and become strong.
The ninja standing right in front of him might actually come to be pretty bothersome in the future. Tzu realized his initial appraisal of the boy might carry some foolishness itself.
"Very well then," Tzu uttered with another long, drawn out sigh. "I can see that you view this technique as beneath you. If I remember correctly the Fourth Hokage's technique relied mainly on speed. Now this technique is nowhere close to the magnitude of that, but strength is not the only aspect that gives you an edge in a fight."

"I don't care about speed! Speed, speed, speed, it's nothing against my Jutsus!" Hikaru punched the air.
"I'm going to be Hokage someday. Everyday I work hard and soon I'll be Fire shadow. And then, I'll create or find a Jutsu that can bring my parents, and friends alive again. And no one, no matter how fast or strong they are can stop me from doing that! Everyday, I struggle for that jutsu! Speed won't help me. All I need is grit!"
Hikaru grinned. "I'll kill every enemy that harms this village, because it's the village that became my family. Everyone in this village is more dear than my own life! And when my family and friends have come back to me, It'll be an every happier place for me. But until then, I won't stop. I'll use brute strength and grit to win all my battles. Strength cannot win, but neither can speed. It's grit, pure grit."
"And, I will beat you someday. One day, if you ever decide to take a mission against my village, I'll smash you to bits!! And that's a promise old man!!"
Hikaru straightened his back proudly, no longer slouching, his eyes filled with determination.
