Just a suggestion, but If we're going to suddenly replace almost all of the kages (Not sure what's happening to Orochimaru yet) it might be a good idea to come up with a reason why.
The fun part of this is that each village can have it's own reason and a thread to back it. If you select the cause of death correctly, you can use it as a method of selecting the next Kage.
For example, take the Mizukage. Let's just say that the forth Mizukage is still alive and in control of his village. Problem? He is completely insane! Ten minutes before the thread, he gave an order for all of his ninja to get prepared to attack and slaughter everyone in the village who is a 'waste of space', as deemed by Mr sock puppet, his adviser. His Jounin, rather then carry out the order, instead band together to take the Mizukage out.
This thread not only is eye catching, but it has another affect. If we judge those who take part in the removal of the old Mizukage on Rp and leadership skill, it would be a good way to select a new Mizukage.
What do you think?

Not that I have anything against a saucy thread like that, but I don't think this is something we need to worry about. As I said, going by where we're starting in the canon timeline, we only know the identity of 3 kages; Tsunade, Gaara, and Orochimaru. Since we're going all original from that point, we can do anything we want with the remaining 3 spots. Plus, it was implied near the very beginning the beginning of the whole Naruto series that the 4th Mizukage had been replaced, when Kakashi mentioned that the academy graduation test that had earned Hidden Mist the title of "Blood Mist Village" had been changed.

So we're not going to be doing anything like this?

Probably not, as it would just add to our list of things to do when it's really not necessary. Since we're probably gonna have a lot of work on our hands when we get to work, I'm sure everyone would want to focus on the necessities to keep things from getting too overwhelming.

Very well... Almost a shame really, but if it's for the greater good...

This isn't really related, but Orochimaru isn't a Kage. He's technically not even a village leader since the Hidden Sound isn't even proven to exist. All that's known is that it was a 'village' that he helped set up, and then used as a ploy to get into the Chuunin exams and gather ninja for the use of experimentation and increasing the number of his followers. Does anyone else see this and go wtf?
I feel like this site has allot of common |\|00|3 misconceptions.
As far as this idea goes, it sounds fun, but limited. I think we can come up with something better for finding a Kage for the Hidden Mist. And we still need to figure out who's going to be leading both the Hidden Rock and Cloud. So I still suggest something of a concept like the Chuunin Exams, but rather for Jounin to determine who will be the Kage for each village. Plot event and it gives us village leaders.

Kages live, Kages die. Time to get the active folks on this site -- the ones who were active even while everyone else was chasing their rear end in the prairie -- and give them important roles so they can get stuff going on a more full-time scale.

"Kages live, Kages die." Was that an attempt to try and be artistic and deep? Just... just stop. First off, this thread has been over and done with for a while. When a thread dies, let it die. (I know I'm not much of an example for people who just let threads die, but this one was honestly dead) Second, that post was barely relevant to the conversation Arikado. All you said was essentially "We need to appoint Kages out of the active people on this site", which is what we've been trying to do for a while now. Your post was not only next to irrelevant, but also redundant.
